The full SoundGrove band was at Suburbia Restaurant in Sentosa to play at the Christmas Party for the AES Company. The theme was ‘Fairytale’ and the atmosphere was wonderful, with guests turning up dressed as ‘Shrek’, ‘Fred Flinstone’, the ‘Nutcracker’ and many other characters. The band got the crowd in the right mood with their entertaining rendition of popular christmas tunes as well as some RnB and smooth jazz hits. All in all, it was a wonderful night with great music, wonderful people and fabulous food!

Wedding @ Mandarin Oriental Hotel

The band got together to play at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Ballroom. Amos(Guitar, Vocals), Tim(Bass,Vocals) and Daniel(Sax, Piano) played heartwarming ballads and classic love songs to the delight of the guests. The highlight of the night was the groom performing his rendition of ‘Nothing’s Gonna Change My Love For You’ for his lovely bride. The groom began saxophone lessons 8 months prior to the wedding day, not having any music background previously. Anyone interested in music lessons can check out our ‘Music Lessons’ section. Daniel, Shaun and Tim were back at Blu Jazz again with Sixx playing for the countdown party. This year, the place was more packed than ever and everyone was dancing and partying even harder. The music set the tone for the night and there was even a ‘robot’ solo by Shaun which amazed the crowd. Another great night and a great way to end the year with friends.

Sixx were invited to play at Scape Youth Park in Orchard and Daniel, Shaun and Tim played with the band and gave their usual rendition of exciting originals and scintillating covers. Definitely a good weekend out in Orchard Road!

Wedding @ My Secret Garden

The Sound Grove band played at My Secret Garden for the wedding dinner of Benmin and Lynette. The night was wonderful with a great crowd and the cozy restaurant added to the fantastic atmosphere. Amos (Guitar & Vocals), Tim (Bass & Vocals) and Daniel (Saxophone & Keyboards) played their rendition of popular jazz classics as well as some familiar pop tunes. The groom even joined them to sing Wonderful Tonight which left the bride in tears. An excellent night and thanks to the couple for inviting the band to play.

Esplanade’s National Day Weekend Gig

Daniel, Shaun and Tim played with Sixx at the Esplanade as one of the acts of a 3 day long series of gigs. Many local and international bands played including our very own Plainsunset, which played right after Sixx. This was one of the best gigs and it featured a tribute to the late Michael Jackson with the band playing 3 of his songs in the usual Sixx style. It was a fantastic night and a great holiday indeed.

Malaysian GP and Sunburst Music Festival Promotion Gig @ Takashimaya

Daniel, Shaun and Tim performed with Sixx for a gig to promote Malaysian tourism. It was to draw more attention to the Malaysian Grand Prix and also the Sunburst Music Festival. The band was due to perform at the music festival so it was also a good workout for all the musicians.

Sunburst International Music Festival in KL

Daniel, Shaun and Tim were honoured to be able to perform with Sixx at the 2nd Sunburst Internationl Music Festival in KL, Malaysia. It is one of the biggest music festivals in Asia and they were able to share the stage with other incredible artistes like Korn, N.E.R.D, Naturally 7 and other top asian acts. They were treated to an incredible pre-concert party and a rooftop bar and the music festival was also nothing less than spectaculor. The crowd was awesome and everyone had a great time performing. First overseas for the band together and everyone could definitely get used to the this life!

Beats & Breaks Festival @ Esplanade

Daniel (Saxophone), Shaun (Percussions and DJ) and Tim (Bass) played with Sixx at the Beats and Breaks Festival at Esplanade which celebrated local Hip Hop acts. The crowd was wild and were dancing to the music which made the atmosphere fabulous. A great gig for local music!
